Resum

The present article offers results on job satisfaction obtained from 197 health professionals (doctors and nurses) working in public or private health organizations. Differential analysis of satisfaction as a function of the rol (doctor, nurse), the type of service (Primary Health Care, Hospital) and ownership of the organization (public, private) have been carried out. Results obtained show that job satisfaction is significantly different as a function of organizational variables like the type of service and the ownership. In fact, job satisfaction is higher in professionals working in primary health care than in those working in hospitals, and in private organizations than in the public ones. Significant interaction effects are also discussed in the paper.
