Abstract

The ultraviolet index (UVI) forecast reports people on the erythemal UV radiation level at the Earth’s surface. Prediction of the solar UV Index is achieved with a radiative transfer model that requires the inputs of total ozone and turbidity. The erythemal UV irradiance and the UVI are calculated to study the influence of the inputs for the equinoxes and solstices in Valencia. The ozone values are within the range 150-500 DU and the aerosol optical depth equal to 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5
