Resum
In 1939 the tasks of recovery and restoration began of the sculpture works that had seriously deteriorated during the struggle. The destructive phenomenon that the war had caused in the field of national heritage will not be analysed but the consequences that it had in the general ensemble of Valencian ecclesiastic will be. At a stage of severe economic crisis, one of the main governmental and ecclesiastic objectives was to concentrate a great deal of its efforts on the recovery of the lost or defaced heritage, so that the cult could be restored quickly and normalized. There would be an emphasis on the wood painted sacred sculpture, on the institutional ways that are set for its intervention and on the results obtained.
