Résumé

Purpose: The objective of this study consists to see the effectiveness, and predicatibily of the orthokeratologic treatment, by a serie of cases (observational) between two designs of reverse geometry contact lens for overnight orthokeratology (OK), the CRT® contact lens of Paragon and the Pauné DRL® contact lens. Material and method: 12 eyes of 7 patients were adapted during a week by both types of reverse geometry contact lens. From first to second lens wear, seven o more days ere waited until the topography was the same that the preadaptation of first lens. The effectiveness and the changes that each lens for separate induces as well as the results obtained on the same eye with each one of the two types of adapted lens were evaluated. Results: The DRL shows you more effective than the CRT® starting from one week to show bigger variations of K for the same time (p=0.01), bigger reduction of the ametropia (p=0.01) and to produce increments of more AV that CRT® starting from the third night. The DRL® contact lens are more comfortable to the daily wear. Conclusion: Both contact lens present appropriate results for the overnight orthokeratology, but the DRL® is more effective and quicker in getting them.
