Abstract

The Valencian Community has solid heritage elements related to Silk. Intangible heritage such as Fallas Festivals, tangible heritage such as the Lonja de la Seda, both recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage, and countless other tangible or intangible assets of high-value are distributed throughout the territory. The combination of all these elements could allow the definition and design of a tourism high-value product. In recent years, World Intangible Heritage tourism is consolidating as a specific segment within heritage tourism brand whose characteristics is necessary to analyse and evaluate in order to develop a product that meets and even exceeds the expectations of this type of tourist. This paper describes this reality and analyses the Valencian Community situation as a integral and living heritage of silk reference.
