Abstract

The aim of this research is the use of an educational robot as a tool of reinforcement in the acquisition of the competences related to the computational and mathematical thinking in students of Primary Education. Computational thinking is understood as a set of skills, including algorithmic thinking, through which any person is able to solve problems. The contents developed will be addressed using the STEM pedagogical strategy, combining the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in the learning process. Thus, it is proposed to adapt the technological environment to be able to use it at an early age. Specifically, several activities related to the resolution of mathematical problems, focused on the level of Primary Education, are proposed, making an adaptation of the programming blocks to solve them. This is carried out through the creation of customized programming blocks, in which the teacher can include more complex behaviors that will be transparent for the student. Therefore, the student can solve a wider range of problems, excluding the complexity from the limitations of the programming environment.
