Abstract

The paper aims to define the Attic standard in the Classical Age, and for so doing we offer a reassessment of the language of the Aristophanic comedy and two literary languages, the Ancient Attic and the New Attic. A secondary objective deals with the determination of which one of these varieties is more directly related to the Greek Koine.
