Résumé

When there are a pay per person system and a public-private partnership (called Alzira Model), patient loyalty becomes a priority for health management. In this paper, we study in which way patient loyalty depends on health management model (public or partnership). Methodologically, we have conducted a confirmatory analysis about three loyalty measures (capture, retention and dropout rates). For this empirical research, we have considered more than 1 million of records from patients of the Region of Valencia during 2012. As a result, we show that patient loyalty depends on health management model: public (higher capture and retention) or partnership (lower dropout). At the same time, we observe how Alzira Model faces reluctance to establish a first contact; however, once established, relationship is more durable in time. In conclusion, about public-private partnerships debate, from a strategic perspective, our results confirm differences in patient loyalty depending on public or private health management model.
