Abstract
A clinical evaluation was carried out in 48 oral lichen planus patients with associated atrophic and/or erosive lesions (chronic descamative gingivitis; C.D.G group). Clinical parameters were compared to those of 47 oral lichen planus patients without atrophic and/or erosive lesions. C.D.G. group showed a trend towards the lesions being bilateral and of larger extension (p). Cutaneous involvement did not revealed statistically significant differences. Reticular lesions was less prevalent in the second group while atrophic-erosive lesions had a much higher prevalence in the C.D.G. group.
