Abstract
In this paper some works written and published by Vives in 1514 are related to the contemporary trendsof Christian thought found among 15th- century conversos. In view of this comparison the Christian humanism of Vives appears rooted in indigenous reform movements. Without this influence the links of Vives with Central Europe an reform circles such as Erasmism would probably have been less paramount
