Résumé

The authors of this article analyze the testimonies of praise by contemporaries of Juan Luis Vives lauding his intellectual and literary ability. These testimonies, taken mostly from correspondence, reveal the high esteem that all the humanists felt for Vives. His culture, the breadth of his readings and his projects related to all disciplines make him one of the most outstanding figures of the sixteenth century in Europe.
