Abstract

This research explores Spanish Secondary Education students’ errors in English as a foreign language (EFL) writing. More specifically, this study belongs to the field of second language acquisition, and adopts a product-oriented perspective on writing coupled with taking Error Analysis and Transfer Analysis as a starting point to deal with learner errors. The results of this study show that an analysis of learner errors in EFL can provide information that may help teachers plan future lessons, design class materials, and make decisions on correction techniques more attuned with learners’ needs.
