Abstract

Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a primary degenerative brain disease of unknown etiology, whose clinical manifestation is a progressive loss of memory. From the morphological point of view, is characterized by cerebral cortical atrophy, decreased synaptic connections, reduced neuronal density and the presence of two neuropathological findings that define it: senile plaques (SP) and neurofibrillary tangles (ONF). The SPs are extracellular deposits of amyloid protein material surrounded by dystrophic neurites and microglia and ONF are intraneuronal aggregates of fibrillar material composed of proteins highly phosphorylated microtubule. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of this program for Alzheimer's patients achieve a better quality of life, a relationship with their environment and society, integrating psychomotor activity, respiratory and cinesiterápicas. The exhibition was held with 51 patients attending a day care center. We conclude that there is a slight improvement in the daily activities of patients with Alzheimer's.
