Resumo

lndirect maxillary sinus floor elevation allows the placement of endosseous implants simoultaneously with bone grafting, when there is insuficient bone height in the posterior maxilla. ll is a low invasive treatment modality, however il, can lead to complications as sinus membrane perforation, maxillary sinusitis, and the displacement of an implant with insufficient primary stability in the maxillary sinus. The present study describes a maxillary sinutis after a sinus floor elevation and the placement of two implants in 1.5 and 1.6. With antibiotic therapy and several washings nasal via, the symtomatology dissappeared and the implants were loaded after 12 weeks. lmplants had no complications after 6 months of follow-up. The aim of this paper is to present a maxillary sinusitis after implant placement, its treatmem without the need of implants extraction.
