Résumé

A diferencia de las décadas anteriores, en la actualidad se obtienen unas tasas de abstinencia, al finalizar el tratamiento, bastante aceptables en los programas de intervención orientados a eliminar el tabaquismo. Sin embargo, dichas tasas decaen drásticamente en los distintos seguimientos realizados. Por lo tanto, el objetivo del trabajo que aquí se presenta consiste en realizar una revisión de la literatura empírica, desde la perspectiva del estrés y del afrontamiento, de los factores situacionales, psicológicos y fisiológicos que pueden predecir el mantenimiento de la abstinencia. Además, también se describen las estrategias más utilizadas en los programas de prevención de la recaída.
