Resumen

Las investigaciones sobre el proceso de búsqueda de información en turismo se han centrado tradicionalmente en la etapa de planificación previa a la llegada del turista a su destino. En esta investigación se analiza el proceso de búsqueda de información y su incidencia en distintas etapas del proceso de decisión. Los resultados muestran que las fuentes de información que utilizan y la intensidad de búsqueda que los turistas realizan para planificar el viaje, difieren significativamente de la realizada en destino. Asimismo, se presentan distintos perfiles de turistas, a partir de las fuentes de información que utilizan en ambos momentos temporales y de la intensidad de la búsqueda de información que efectúan. Finalmente, y como parte de las conclusiones, se incluyen directrices de interés para la gestión empresarial en el ámbito del turismo, acorde a los resultados obtenidos.
