Laburpena
El presente trabajo consiste en una revisión de estudios relacionados con los videojuegos activos y la salud de los jóvenes. Estos videojuegos representan una nueva alternativa para el mantenimiento de un estilo de vida activo y pueden ser utilizados como nuevos métodos de rehabilitación. No obstante, su uso también puede influir negativamente en la salud de los jóvenes, pudiendo propiciar la aparición de diversos tipos de lesiones, especialmente en sectores inactivos de población joven con escasa forma física. Tras la revisión, se observa la necesidad de estudios sociológicos y epidemiológicos que ofrezcan información sobre el impacto real que este nuevo fenómeno puede tener en los niveles de actividad física y la prevalencia de lesiones de la población joven. Se requiere de una valoración y uso crítico de los videojuegos activos para que su impacto en el ocio, el bienestar y la salud de la población joven sea positivo.
