Abstract
Jaime Siles authored the first doctoral dissertation in Spain devoted completely to the study of the pre–Roman Iberian language. Some clues to accomplish-ment in poetry might be found in this professional academic research, especially the will to transcend the sign, to go ―beyond all signs‖, which may have stemmed from his close observance of the sign in itself.
