Resumen

Our aim was to assess how factors of Self-Concept are related to Motor and Academic Performance measured in Physical Education as a school subject. Data were collected from a sample of 389 high school students of both sexes, aged from 14 to 16. In order to measure the Self-Concept factors, we used the Musitu, García & Gutiérrez Self-Concept Scale, and for the Motor Performance, a five-part physical test was created and the Academic Performance was assessed by the degree obtained inPhysical Education last year. The results lead to the conclusion that students have a better Self- Concept when their Academic Performance is better and this is also true, though to a lesser extent, when their Motor performance is better.
