Abstract

Balance in children and teenagers follows a different pattern than adults because sensory maturation process and motor control associated with the natural growth. The Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia has carried out an analysis of postural control in healthy subjects between ages 6 to 20 years. During the project, 87 subjects without known balance or musculoskeletal disorders were measured by means of the Balance Assessment System NedSVE/IBV. To perform the evaluation process, a specific protocol was defined taking into account the characteristics of the target population. here have been offset values angle from the center of pressure in the anterior-posterior and a half-lateral axis obtaining patterns of normalcy.
