Abstract
In this work we analyze whether personal and family characteristics and the moment of the economic cycle influence young people's fate in the same way when they come from different areas of the educational system. Given EPA's longitudinal data, we can estimate binomial and multinomial logit models of end of studies and transition to work, unemployment, or inactivity. From the diverse results obtained, it is interesting to stress the fact that a university degree doesn't seem to be the best guarantee to find a job in the months after obtaining it, which confirms the hypothesis that benefits from higher education are received by the individual in a medium and long term.
