Zusammenfassung
This paper focuses on three points about the methodological fundamentals currently accepted and used in the group polarization experimental paradigm. First, the paradigm is critically revised from a methodological point of view. Second, several deficiencies concerning the parametric tests normally used (t-test, Anova) to verify the group polarization phenomenon are pointed out and illustrated with data examples. Finally, an alternative method based on the categorical data analysis is proposed. This criticism suggests that the group polarization phenomenon should be re-analyzed from a new angle
