Résumé
This paper analyses the services' contribution to the development of the Spanish regions during 1980-1991. An important reallocation of resources among economic activities characterized by the progressive slump of the agrarian sector, a restructuration of the industry and anexpansion of the service sector, specially in terms of employment, has taken place in this period. All the services activities have registered a significant growth, which has been specially high for public services.Nevertheless, there exist regional differnces that show that market services have a higher contribution to growth in richer regions, while public services are the main sourceof growthin poorer regions.
