Este trabajo ofrece una panorámica sobre la Hipótesis de Señalización como alternativa a la Teoría del Capital Humano. En primer lugar, se incide en las diferencias entre hipótesis de señalización y el problema de la omisión de la capacidad innata en la ecuación de salarios. En segundo lugar, se presentan los argumentos que se incluyen en esta hipótesis: educación como información y credencialismo. Seguidamente, se exponen los contrastes propuestos en la literatura: el contraste de Wiles, el papel del título (Sheepskin Argument), P-Test y la comparación de muestras. Finalmente, se realiza una exhaustiva descripción de los trabajos existentes sobre esta cuestión clasificándolos de acuerdo al contraste utilizado. = This paper offers a revision about the contrast of the signalling hypothesis as an alternative approach from human capital theory. First, we difference between the signalling hypothesis and the ability omission problem. Secondly, we present different approaches included in this hypothesis: education acting as an information device and credentialism. Next, some tests to constrast it are showed: Wile Test, Sheepskin Argument, P-test and sample comparison. Moreover, an exhausted revision of the empirical literature is given.
