La calidad del agua superficial en la Comunidad Valenciana y su asociación con variables socioeconómicas

Abstract

This work analyzes the quality of surface water in the Valencian Community and its relationship with other socio-economic variables. Considering the water quality from a general perspective (regardless of their possible use) the values of a synthetic indicator defined from a set of chemical-physical characteristics has been determined at different times and at sampling points near different locations. This research examines the influence of tourism on water quality in two ways: first, the declaration as tourist municipality by autonomous legislation has been considered; and the number of places of tourist accommodation has been taken into account too. Another variable of interest is the municipal population. A measure of fiscal effort of the municipalities involved in the investigation has been also considered in the study
