Resum
The Industrial Companies Survey (ICS) conducted annually by the INE is designed to provide estimates of various variables with a national and autonomous aggregation level. The generation of estimates for smaller areas with an acceptable level of accuracy can be achieved only by increasing the size of the sample or by using auxiliary information. In this paper the second option is assumed and the following methodological issues are discussed: choice of source of auxiliary information, setting the temporal reference of the two sources, selection of the models which allow incorporating such information to the inferential process of ICS and harmonization of results obtained at the different levels of aggregation. Finally, the impact of changes on the ICS in 2008 is analyzed and we present some of the results obtained.
