Doctor by the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with the thesis Efectos moleculares y fisiológicos del extracto polifenólico de hoja de mango (Zynamite®) sobre la fatiga muscular y la respiración mitocondrial durante el ejercicio y la isquemia-reperfusión en seres humanos. 2024. Supervised by Dr. José Antonio López Calbet, Dr. Marcos Martin Rincon.

A) Academic Background: Graduated in Biotechnology from the University of Girona (UdG). She later completed a Master’s in Nutrition and Health at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) and obtained her PhD in Biomedical Research from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) in 2024, receiving the Extraordinary PhD Award, Cum Laude distinction, and International Mention. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Physiology at the University of Valencia under the supervision of Dr. Maria Carmen Gómez Cabrera, supported by an APOSTD (GVA) contract. B) Research Experience: Funded by an FPU grant from the Ministry of Science and Innovation, her research has focused on oxidative stress-regulated signaling pathways in human skeletal muscle during strength and high-intensity exercise. She has investigated ROS-mediated processes linked to aging and frailty, and collaborated with industry (Nektium Pharma S.L.) to study the molecular effects of natural polyphenols in human skeletal muscle. She also developed new methods for assessing kinases in skeletal muscle microbiopsies. She completed a four-month research stay at the Astrand Laboratory (Stockholm, Sweden), funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Social Council of ULPGC. She is first author of five papers and co-author of ten others, all in Q1 JCR journals, and has presented several contributions at international conferences and seminars. She has participated in five competitive and eight non-competitive R+D projects and has been a member of the “In motu salus” Sports Science Research Network (CSD) since 2022. Among her distinctions are the Young Investigator Award (2019), two Cátedra Telefónica Awards (2022 and 2024), the NutraIngredients Awards USA first award (2024), and postdoctoral contracts APOSTD and Juan de la Cierva (2025). In 2026, she joined the Junior Editorial Board of Sports Medicine and Health Science. She also serves as reviewer for international journals including Annals of Medicine and Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism. C) Teaching Experience: She has taught in the Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at ULPGC, covering subjects such as Exercise Physiology, Athlete Nutrition, and Physical Activity in the Tourism Sector. She has also participated in a teaching innovation project (PIE 2022-69) and completed teaching innovation courses. In 2026, she taught in the Degrees in Medicine and Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at the University of Valencia. She actively collaborates with the research groups led by Dr. J.A.L. Calbet, Dr. Marcos Martín Rincón, and Dr. Alfredo Santana.
