Abstract

The report on the first half of 2025 outlines the obstacles that have accompanied the implementation of the Law regulating educational freedom, after the results of the consultation on the base language for non-university education were revealed. It also reports on the various strategies to diminish Valencian in education, such as the decision to reclassify Alicante as an area where Spanish predominates, as well as the difficulties in its use due to the absence of institutional support in cases of rights violations. Special attention should be given to toponymic initiatives, specifically the change of name of the municipality of Valencia that the City Council intends to implement. The report also addresses the consequences of the budget cuts to the Valencian Language Academy, although certain actions to promote Valencian in various areas will be maintained. Also of interest are the onomastic issues relating to personal names, as well as the research activity carried out in the field of university education in Administrative Law.
