Abstract
The inclusion of ADR as part of the integral model of justice in the legal system opens up numerous expectations for the search for consensus in the resolution and avoidance of conflict. A list of procedures is given, many of them well known, some less so, and an «ADR Service» is designed to be the thermometer that will measure the effectiveness or otherwise of these consensual procedures. The paper highlights the difficulties that asymmetric implementation of ADR may encounter and, without being defeatist, the benefits of legal reform.
