Abstract

Sports organizations are increasingly aware of the impact that sporting events have on the en-vironment. For this reason,more and more actions are being observed integrated into these events aimed at minimizing this impact and,in turn,improving the perception that spectators have of them. This,on the one hand,fosters their loyalty to the event and,on the other,influ-ences the sustainable behavior of viewers on an individual level. However,there are still few studies that analyze the degree of perception of these actions by viewers. For this reason,the present work aims to analyze the evaluations of different variables related to sustainability made by those attending a sporting event in the city of Valencia. At the same time,these assessments are compared between the different groups that make up the sample,in order to identify which factors may influence these perceptions. Through this analysis,it is observed that the 208 par-ticipants in this study positively value the sustainable actions implemented by the organization,as well as the influence of the country of origin on these evaluations. The results highlight the relevance of sustainable actions in a sporting event,not only because of their ability to reduce environmental impact,but also because of their positive effect on viewers' perception and their influence on their future intentions.
