Abstract

Los mursi son un grupo de agricultores y ganaderos trashumantes que recientemente han ocupado el valle del Mago (Etiopía), iniciando un proceso de sedentarización. Presentamos un estudio sobre los útiles de piedra utilizados en la actualidad por los mursi en diferentes poblados del valle. Los datos proceden de dos períodos de trabajo de campo y del estudio de diversas colecciones museográficas europeas y etíopes. Se anali-zan las características principales de los diversos útiles, su función, cambios en el uso de los mismos así como posibles criterios para su correcta identificación en el registro arqueológico
